Analysis of Our NBA League’s Draft: Team 3 of 14

Written by Various Rotogods on October 24, 2005

I would throw someone else a bone here, but I do not have all those cool administrative features. I did have to format this piece, so I might as well take the credit. Yes this is another blantant self-promotion of good ole Furious as front page MVP. Since the other black guy (well half black anyway) has been posting these lovely capsules for the consumption of the masses, we might as well take a look at his team during the off-day. I really would love to hate this morning because Tivo did take my Ilgauskas, but we will save that for another day. The info you need to know:

Father Time

NOW THAT WE'VE FOUND LOVE, WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO? Is this the year of the Fat Man? Possibly so. Tivo comes through with a solid draft. Much will depend on the health of the LeBaron, however. And of course, there's Paul Pierce What's wrong Paul? Oh, did...did one of the other players say something mean? Ilgauskas was a great pick at three and surprised many Rotogods. We had just assumed Kwame Brown, I guess. And Jamison coming back makes a strong starting four. I think the fatass faltered a little with Abdur-Rahim at five. Again, a great pick three years ago. But Odom at six looks solid, especially if Phil Jackson means what he says about Pothead's "Pippen" role on the team. Q and Damon Jones should provide more than enough in terms of threes. Although Mr. Richardson never met a shot he didn't like and therefore shoots about 12% from the field. Wesley was computer fuckup, if I recall correctly, and Kenny Thomas is a nice final pick. Excellent work, Tivo. Now please hand me the Jamison, fatfuck. 3rd PLACE

Beagle

Fat Fatter and Fattest: We likes the Z. Jamison and Sahreef should provide solid scoring and rebounding numbers out of the forward spots and Lamar Odom should be a stat-sheet stuffer in the triangle. I think he has huge upside this year, if he can master the Jackson offense and Kobe actually gives him the ball. Q Rich and Damon Jones will provide lots of 3s and low TOs but I doubt either will be able to duplicate their numbers of last year on their new squads. I like the Kenny Thomas pick and he could be a solid double-double guy if he manages 30 minutes a game in Sactown. Draft Grade: B

T-Lake

Fatdumblazyricky: Damn Tivo, I like this team a lot. Pierce and Davis are the stat guys, with Shareef and Antawn helping the averages. Z is a sweet center to have and blocks shots. Odom is a bit of a wild card but could be in a very good way, and the end of the roster is chocked with bombers. Vedy nice.
Rank: 3th

Ape

Tivo’s Queeffs: Another team where health is some concern with several guys coming off some injuries, but I like the mix, especially with Pierce looking good and coming off a very efficient statistical year. He could come back up to the top 10. This team will struggle a bit in steals and blocks as well as TO's, but Ilguaskas and SAR will be a nice balance to Q and Baron and Lamar Odom could produce nice numbers accross the board in the Scottie Pippen role.
Predicted finish: 7th

I was happy with this draft, and stunned that people were so nice to my team. Perhaps they are just waiting for me to trade it out of contention.
