Doc Fury's Belated August Exposo List
Written by Dr Furious on September 02, 2005
I know what you all are thinking. Yes Furious is fully aware that it is September. The rotogod excursion to Vegas robbed the people of what they need … a list that highlights good players that epitomize suckage. This is only the second day of September, and I feel that the two-day delay is not too egregious. Football is right around the corner, and I cannot wait to start exposing the garbage players in the NFL. Since baseball is rapidly heading to its conclusion, we will keep the focus there. So let’s get this thing started and begin with …
Rafael Palmeiro
Why are you the only one who does not realize that your career is over? You juiced, you lied about it on national television no less, and you probably will not get into the Hall of Fame. Bottom Line: You Are Screwed. When the season is over Raffy, do everyone a favor and retire. There is no one in the world of baseball that is going to give you a second chance.
Javier Vazquez
I try to keep things fresh and innovate on the exposo list. While I certainly complained about Vazquez while he was on my team, he has finally earned a spot for full exposure. Vazquez’s ERA in his last start: 11.81. It just does not stop there. Javy has posted an L in 5 of his last 6 starts with earned runs of 5 or higher in 4 of those contests. What happened to the good old days when Vazquez was good? If resident rotogod Beagle does commit an act of Jihad, we all know who to blame.
Kerry Wood
There are those who would argue that Kerry Wood was never really good, and therefore does not warrant a spot on the exposo list. I think that Wood, when healthy, can be one of the better pitchers in baseball. The problem is the guy can never stay healthy. Since Kerry has pitched a grand total of 66 innings the entire year (with 77 strikeouts), he has definitely achieved exposo status for the fraud that he is.
Tony Womack
Damn dude, you are hitting .244. The stolen bases (26 in 324 at bats) are there, no doubt. There is a reason that you only have 324 at bats though. You are hitting .244. This from a guy that batted .307 last year and is a career .272 hitter. That is terrible, horrible, atrocious, horrendous, and just plain shitty. Another smart investment the Yankees have made this season. Womack, you have been exposed.
Well folks I think that will do it. I am sure that the proud owners of all these fine players feel a lot like Peerless Price did after he received word of being cut from the Hotlanta Falcons. Doing his best Mike Winchell impersonation, Price was quoted by the AP saying, “I hate ya’ll.” Anyone that has seen Friday Night Lights knows that at the end of movie, Winchell’s clinching line is “I hate all ya’ll baby, I hate all ya’ll (he actually tells the players that he loves them, but it sounds much more BA this way) and I’m sure owners of the exposed (Furious included) feels the same way. Have a great weekend and keep it hate-free if you can.

i bet the Yankees will give Palmeiro a second chance.
