Basketball
So, after four straight blowouts, the NBA Finals’ fifth game goes into overtime. This makes perfect sense, doesn’t it? I mean, in a boxing match, after two fighters have been beating the crap out of each other for a few rounds, the pummeling has to stop eventually and turn into a contest of who can lean on the other guy harder, and who drools more fiercely. Heck, this thing is probably going the full 12 rounds, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it decided on points. (You figure that one out.)
Football
I hear fantasy football season is upon us. Football fans rejoice! I will defer to the other Rotogods on this one, as I am anything but a football genius. In fact, I am more than ready to take pointers on how player value is established in fantasy football, because I have no idea. Please send your advice to worm@rotogods.com.
Baseball
The interleague circus is over for now, and teams can get back to playing games that count, right? Seeing the Cubs playing in Yankee Stadium was extra-special, though, what with Yankee fans finally getting to see Sammy Sosa after all his years in the National League. Oh, wait. Well, if not Sammy, at least those famed young phenoms of the Cubs’ future, Kerry Wood and Mark Prior, dazzled New Yorkers… or not. Greg Maddux? Um, anybody? Oh yeah, at least there was a Carlos Zambrano outing, he’s one of their stars, right? Not that you couldn’t catch a similar performance from Victor Zambrano over at Shea. Oh well.
Golf
Tiger was lurking again this weekend, looking for his second major of the year. In the middle of the fourth round he looked like he had that Tiger magic going again, but a few mistakes down the stretch cost him any chance of competing for the prize. He was still better than everybody other than the winner, Michael Campbell, on a day that humbled many of the world’s best golfers. I dunno, for seem reason, “world’s best golfers” sounds about as significant as “world’s greatest lawn bowlers”. Well, I’d like to have Tiger’s game, anyway.
Racing
What if they held a race, and nobody showed up?
Tennis
Ooh, Wimbledon is coming up this week! (gets excited)
Other Roto Notes
Todd Helton still sucks. This is getting ridiculous. It looks like some star-caliber pitchers, (Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, Curt Schilling,) are getting close to returning. That could change a few people’s fantasy seasons. Or it could kill them, if they come back and suck. Don’t count it out. And, finally, I swear Kenny Rogers is not this good. Does he get to use a different ball or something?
Okay, that’s all, go about your business.

Hey at least Worm talked about basketball and football. Squirming in the right direction there guy.
