The Morning Offering - May 27, 2005

Well folks it is Friday once again, and Doctor Furious is here to bless ere'body. What a fine morning it is, especially since it is not raining at this exact moment (thank God). The Nor'easter has subsided, leaving a nice dose of rain and cold weather in its wake. Apparently the crappy weather Boston enjoyed over last weekend was not enough.

Danny Kolb, featured on my exposo list last Friday, has forced me to trade for a closer. I can finally say that an additional closer has been acquired from Ricky.

Oh and then there is the firewall issue. I believe that any company that employs people to work overnight should allow them to browse whatever Internet sites they choose, espeically fantasy sports. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to stay up all night without access to Yahoo? Well ... do you? So I think it is obvious that Furious has a lot of hate to dispense this morning. I will refrain from doing so, standing strong in the pocket like Tom Brady, to abide by the hate-free Friday dictum. Get that coffee brewing, print this piece out, go drop a load if necessary and read what I got to say. No single topic this morning; just straight random, off-the-top-of-the-dome material:

Rodrigo Lopez
Was also featured on my exposo list last Friday. The good news for Lopez owners: he finally had a good start. The not-so-good news: his next start comes at Boston. If you subscribe to Sportingnews.com's Fantasy Source, this may look a little familiar until right about now. Lopez has typically owned Boston in the past, and I think he is safe start at Fenway. The Red Sox bats are struggling, as the Blue Jays completed a sweep last evening. Keep Lopez in your lineup for his next start.

Kingdom of Heaven
Furious finally peeped the movie last night, and I highly approve. Ridley Scott just knows how to make this kind of movie, and he does not disappoint either. If you go to see that other movie, and it is sold out, you now have a back up plan.

Pay Day
Is there anything better than when you go to the ATM and your direct deposit has already hit your account? My ATM expereience last night prompted me to break out a little dance.

Dwyane Wade
Will he be the best player in the NBA within two seasons? He has the talent and skills to do so. I had a chance to acquire him this year, and I blew it.

Grades
I got my grade for last semester and I was one A- short of a 4.0. Should I be pissed about the A-, because I am. I know it is a good grade, and I should be happy, but I really believe that I deserved an A. Should I not want to commit Jihad on my professor?

Music
Since The Fool dropped some knowlege about Neil Young, I have to follow up with a little myself. Alright ladies, help a brother out here because I need some input. Is it common practice for a girl to base an entire argument on a minimal amount of information? I raise the question only because a good friend of mine and I were discussing Eminem. My feminist friend is convinced that Eminem is the worst rapper ever and was very passionate about it. Of course I had to play devil's advocate to present a different point of view. I quickly discovered that my friend's opinion was based on two songs. Is it asking too much to suggest that my friend to listen to a little more of his music before she passionately argues about how bad Eminem is? Let a brother know ladies.

Shout outs
Big up goes out to my niece, who just celebrated her seventh Birthday. Happy Birthday sweetie. Another shout out goes to Ricky. I am glad we finally got that deal done guy. Enjoy the D-Train, he will treat you well.

I think that will do it. I am about two hours away from getting off of work and then it is off to the gym for me. After a short nap, Furious will be ready, willing, and able to hang out all day and all night. I am sure that some beverages will be consumed, and they will most likely be the alcoholic kind. You should do the same.
